Player Piano Frame Breaks During Restoration
By Aaron Carlson

Ref. 070609 MMDigest

Hello All! I have read all of your inputs on this matter with great
interest, and have also paid a visit to the rebuilder. He has found
out from the lady involved that what she didn't tell him was that the
piano was in a warehouse for 12 years, until she took over her mother's
estate! When we looked at it, it was in her front room.

When the rebuilder carefully took it apart for the garbage man (first
he saved what he could), all of the back posts and the bottom support
for the back posts had twisted and warped like pretzels within a few
hours. Could this possibly have happened because of storage
conditions, or was the wood still green to start with?

With a song and a smile,
Aaron Carlson
