"Orchestral" Rolls Found
By Leslie Hoffman

If the catalogue number of the roll begins with an "X" followed by
four numbers, or I have found some with three numbers, then it is
a Wilcox and White Angelus Orchestral roll.

The one I have is like a pianola roll. (By the way, that word is
the Aeolian name for their players but has become a universal word
for push-up players and player pianos as well.)

The Wilcox and White Orchestral is a wonderful instrument because not
only does it play a piano, once pushed up to, but within the unit it
has organ reeds as well! So, one can play it without a piano and it
becomes a player pump organ or you can play both the organ reeds and
piano together. Mine only has one rank but I am told that there are
ones made with multiple ranks.

If you have no use for the rolls, please send them to Terry Smythe
to be scanned.
