Original Seeburg Piano Case Finish
By Britt Abbott

I have a question on original finish used on Seeburg coin operated
pianos. As I recall, lacquer came onto the scene in the mid-1920s
as the primary furniture finish. Were the Seeburgs finished in the
older style varnish or lacquer?

Did they change with the times, using varnish as the primary finish
in pre-1920 or early 1920s and changing to lacquer at a later time?
What products do you piano restorers use on the older pianos?

Thanks,
Britt Abbott
