I just acquired a roll of "Hi Neighbor", by Jack Owens, played by
Pep Doyle, dated 1941.  My question is about how this song relates to
a radio program of the 1950s.

There was some sort of comedy show, or it might have been part of an
ongoing skit on a variety show of the time, wherein the running joke
was about the main character who could not get out of his house and
to his car fast enough before being accosted by his over-friendly
neighbor, who would sing, "Hi neighbor, hi neighbor, whadda ya know
and whadda ya say?"  Not unlike Emmet and Hyacinth Bucket in "Keeping
Up Appearances".

Does anyone remember the name of this radio program?
