Dear MMDs,  On 28th October, 2007, Skinner's will be holding an
auction of Mechanical Music & Automata in Bolton (near Boston),
Massachusetts.  The PDF version of the catalogue is available online
at www.skinnerinc.com, with mechanical music from catalogue pages
64-128.  The viewing is on Friday and Saturday from 12 noon to
5 P.M., and from 8 to 9 A.M. the morning of the sale.

The sale features over 160 lots of phonographs, automata, singing
birds, including one by Jaquet-Droz, cylinder and disc musical boxes,
and some rare amalgamations of the two, such as 100-note Libellion
and Capital Cuff models A & C.  Other notable lots include a rare
signed example of a Hicks barrel piano with black forest automata,
a spectacular Chinese Magician automaton by Phalibois, and a fine
carillon musical snuff box by the English maker John Rich, dated 1796.
