Room Acoustics for Mechanical Music
By Tom Hutchinson

MMD, I am considering building a new structure of approximately
3000 to 4000 square feet to accommodate my expanding inventory of
mechanical musical instruments.

Has there ever been any information published addressing acoustical
requirements for a building specifically designed for mechanical
music instruments, such as large pipe organs and band organs? Any
help would be appreciated.

Tom Hutchinson

[ American Theatre Organ Society (ATOS) might have some information
[ for you about controlling acoustical behavior. Otherwise just do
[ whatever you can to soak up and dissipate the sound energy; a band
[ organ playing indoors can generate a painful energy level!
