Seek Restorer for Kansas City Player Piano
By Keith Kaiser

-- non-subscriber, please reply to sender and MMD --

I have a 1920's player piano made by Modello (I think). I've had it
for about fifty years and about twenty years ago I had the piano and
player action completely overhauled. But then life happened and it
went unused, sitting in a garage for the past ten years or so.

Somewhere along the way I started to refinish the cabinet by painting
it with a high-gloss white paint. I know, I know ... big mistake. At
this point I would like to have someone complete the painting, put the
cabinet back together, fix both the player and piano action, and basi-
cally make it look and sound good again.

The harp is still sound. It has only one broken string; the rest are
original. I'm pretty sure I can put my hands on the majority of the
parts that I removed. In addition I have two stained glass inserts I
would like put in the doors in front of the player.

I'm not looking for a handout. I'm happy to pay for this service, but
I'm having a very hard time finding someone to do it. I live in Kansas
City, Missouri, and would prefer if the piano could be picked up and
delivered. But I am willing to make other arrangements if necessary.
