Berry-Wood Auto-Orchestra Rolls
By Brad Hunter

Hello to all! In reply to my Berry-Wood Auto-Orchestra rolls that
I have offered to any collector who owned the proper music machine to
play them, Dave Bowers suggested that these very early rare rolls be
scanned and converted to produce re-cuts on more common "G", "H" and
"O" formats for collectors to enjoy the rare Berry-Wood orchestration
arrangements. Since there are only a handful of the original machines
to play them on I think this would be a great idea!

I am willing to get behind this roll project before the old rolls find
a new home. It is the general belief that one A.O.W. coin-piano is in
the DeBence Museum and possibly a partial second instrument exists.

Who out there has the ability to scan these odd 15-1/4" wide rolls and
would also have the interest and ability to re-format to more common
style orchestra rolls? Who would be willing to make re-cuts from this
newly re-formatted scan data files? I would like very much for this
early music to be heard once again by as many collectors as possible,
not just one machine in one museum.

This must be done before I find a new home for these original rolls.
After they leave my possession it might not be possible to scan them.
It must be done soon!

I have no ability to scan, re-format or re-cut these rare Berry-Wood
Auto-Orchestra rolls. Any ideas or help with this project would be
greatly appreciated!

Brad Hunter
