[ Ref 040522 MMDigest, Seek Ampico Rolls Played By Alexander Brailowsky

Nearly five years ago Mechanical Music Digest very graciously published
an announcement listing the Brailowsky Ampico rolls I had been seeking
to enable one of my contacts, Mr. Jon Skinner, to prepare an audio CD
of these Ampico recordings from transcribed MIDI files.

Alas, two of the rolls remain elusive, to my utter perplexity. If
MMDigest readers can be of any further assistance in locating these rolls,
I would be most grateful:

  64461H Mussorgsky-Sapellnikoff "La Couturiere", and
  67681H Chopin Etude Op. 25, No 12

Brailowsky's eminent brother-in-law of more than forty years, Alexander
G. Karczmar, M.D., Ph.D., whom I interviewed for International Piano in
2002, is still alive and in remarkably good health at age 91.

With best wishes for this new year,
John J. Joswick
