Welte-Mignon Piano Roll of "Mohnblumen"
By Robbie Rhodes

The song that Kent Zacherl seeks (ref. 1) is Poppies, A Japanese
Romance, by American composer Neil Moret (Chas. N. Daniels), published
in 1904 by Shapiro, Remick & Co., Detroit (ref. 2). The song was
also published in Germany as Mohnblumen (Poppies), Japanische Romanze,
Op. 9, für Klavier (ref. 3).

A piano roll of the song is listed in the Welte-Mignon rollography
compiled by Charles Davis Smith:

2211 Mohnblumen (Poppies), Japanische Romanze, Walzer -- Moret/Burkard
  C-2211 do (1916-1919)

Roll number 2211 is within the block of numbers assigned during 1910 and
1911. The recording artist was Heinrich Burkhard, a talented pianist and
organist of Freiburg. After he emigrated to Poughkeepsie, New York, in
1913 he was known as Henry Burkard.
