Seek Starter Switch for Holtzer-Cabot Motor
By John Farmer

I am working on a Seeburg L coin piano in which the original
Holtzer-Cabot ST18 motor has been replaced by an ugly modern motor.
The original motor is still available, and on closer inspection is
In working order except for one part. There is a white metal casting
(probably Brittania metal or Mazac) which attaches the centrifugal
starter switch to the main shaft, and this casting has broken at some
time, and has a piece missing, so can't be clamped to the shaft.
Thus the starter switch spins on the shaft.

If anyone has the relevant part, or an otherwise defunct motor, please
contact me. I can send photos to confirm the part, if required.

The rating of the motor is 1/8 h.p., 110 Volts, 2.5 Amps, 40 Hz. (Was
40 Hz a normal frequency in the US, I thought it was usually 60Hz.)

Many thanks,
John Farmer, UK
