20-reed Barrel Organ With "W" Nameplate
By Bill Spurlock

I have a portable 20-reed barrel (cylinder) organ with no manufacturer
information except the brass "W" nameplate shown in a picture at this
link:

You can right-click on the images and select "preview" for larger
images. I'm hoping someone will recognize this emblem and can offer
some information as to manufacturer, etc.

The machine is a typical "monkey organ" type, with a glass window in
front having a painted street scene with two Hummel figures. It has
six songs on the cylinder. The cylinder shifts side to side to change
songs. The Hummel figures oscillate when the organ is cranked.

There are signs of past repairs on the machine over the years. However
the basic configuration seems to be unchanged. There is a brass plate
on the bottom that accepts a single leg for support.

Thanks,
Bill Spurlock
