Early Audio Recordings of Street Pianos
By Jeffrey R. Wood

Another early recording well worth looking for is Indestructible
(brand) 2-minute cylinder record #1159, "Street Piano Medley," by
P.Molinari. Two complete selections are featured:

    1. That's a Friend of Mine
    2. Harrigan (Irish tune)

I am reminded also of a 1922 Voco Word Roll which I have, #5684, of the
song "Sunshine Alley," a fox trot. The chorus starts out as follows:

Sunshine Alley where the hand organs play,
Sunshine Alley there I first saw the light of day,
Tho' it's humble and poor .....

Perhaps some company made a 78 RPM record of this, featuring a real
mechanical musical instrument or an orchestral imitation of one.
Anyone know?
