I am interested in starting a kind of "virtual exchange student"
program to match individual student composers (from UCLA, California
Institute of the Arts, and other schools) with the owners of MIDI-
controlled orchestrions and other automatic instruments.  The eventual
goal is to produce a series of recordings of new, turn of the twenty-
first century music written for these instruments.

The owners would educate the students about the capabilities and quirks
of their particular instrument, and the students would produce a MIDI
file to be played on the instrument and recorded.
