Sealing Valve Pouches With PVC-E

I'm sure many of you are far more expert at this than me, but from time
to time in the past I have used a water-based rubber cement called PVC-E
to seal pouches.  I have had no adverse effects such as shrinkage, etc.
Any thoughts on this ?
