Player Piano Co. Auction & Wurlitzer Pianino
By Don Teach

I just returned from the Player Piano Co. auction in Wichita, Kansas.
Very few attended and of course the pianos sold cheaply by comparison
to eBay prices and parts were dirt cheap. Unfortunately, in my absence
from the computer my email box filled up with 300 plus emails. One
of the emails concerned the Wurlitzer Pianino. The grandson of the
original owner of a Wurlitzer Pianino has been searching the Internet
to find information about the Wurlitzer Pianino.

There is very little information on the history of the Wurlitzer
Pianino on the Internet. There is a picture of one on the MMD site and
the grandson of an original owner found that web page and photograph.
It seems I now have the Wurlitzer Pianino that his great-grandmother
owned. He had a picture of it with himself and sure enough it is the
exact same Wurlitzer that his grandfather had taken the pump out of and
replaced with a vacuum box in the 1950's. How weird is that?!

The Internet is a treasure trove of information. Some good, some not
so good.
