Seek Pinion for Simplex Roll Tracker Mechanism
By Skip Downing

Greetings Simplex fans, In nearing the end of a restoration, I find
that the pinion of the tracker mechanism is missing. Anybody have any
photos, descriptions, dimensions etc for one of these? I'll make it
if I have to.

The part in question is called simply 'pinion' in Reblitz, page 138.
I found an excellent picture of this on John Tuttle's web site, but any
specific info would be great. For instance, is the hole in the wooden
cross piece drilled to the diameter of the rod, or to the diameter of
the end pin? What is the diameter and length of the rod inside the end
pins, and the length of end pins, etc, etc.? All advice appreciated.

Many thanks in advance,
Skip Downing
