"Nutcracker" Excerpts, Played by Percy Grainger
By Albert Petrak

Dumb me, the celebrated great guru of classical roll recordings, in
simply forgetting to check Charles Davis Smith's trustworthy listing of
all Duo-Art rolls. Had I done so, I would have seen that it says
plainly that Percy Grainger transcribed the traditional suite from the
"Nutcracker" ballet on three rolls: 6798, 6810 and 6085, the first two
issued in late 1924 and the transcription of the "Flower Waltz" in
1918, three years after he came here.

Apologies to all, and I've sent this information (and apology) to David
Natas, who asked me the question originally. Thanks for any help any
of you might be offering (or were thinking of offering).
