FS: Remains of Player Shop, Azusa, Calif.
By Marc Sachnoff

Hello All from sizzling Southern California, I recently had the
opportunity to go through a warehouse full of player parts, organ
parts, tools and old pianos in the Los Angeles suburb of Azusa.
These are the remains of a once well-known player restoration shop
that were left behind when a lease ended.

The place is a mess, with no electricity so nothing could be tested.
There are literally tons of organ pipes: I saw at least 30 ranks of
pipes of wood, metal, etc. Some are in crates, others are loose.
There are a lot of tools, parts, player stacks, reproducing piano
pumps, wind motors, 88- and 65-note rolls, and several junk pianos.
Items worth mentioning include:

- a collection of Welte organ rolls in cans in an original wood cabinet;

- a Fisher Ampico upright that seems to have had some restoration work
  done on it;

- an early 65/88-note Melville Clark pumper with wood tracker bar;

- a pair of refinished but incomplete upright players;

- a Chickering Ampico grand, seemingly complete;

- at least 100 copies, new, in cartons, of the book, "Complete Catalog
  of Duo-Art Recordings" by Chas. Davis Smith.

I have no financial interest in the matter, I'm just hoping some
of it can be saved. For more information contact
