Leather Nuts of Vegetable-tanned Leather
By Randolph Herr

Hello there: About six people have written back to me asking to join
in buying the leather nuts. I have written to Laukhuff asking what the
prices for the leather nuts are; I assume the price will be in euros.
Louis Huivenaar charged me around $20.00 for 100 nuts that are about
3/8 inch in diameter.

Do not send money yet; I think it is cheaper to have the quantity of
nuts sent to me in New York City and I can then re-mail them to you.
(Any opinions on this?)

Please look at the catalogue, and tell me what _size_ and what _shape_
of leather nut you want. Everything is measured in millimeters, and
it is handy to remember that 1/2 inch is 12.7 mm. The nuts that have
been treated with lacquer come in three different shapes which I call
(1) Hemispherical (2) Pill shaped and 3) Jelly Doughnut shaped. There
are also leather nuts that have not been treated with lacquer, as well
as plastic nuts.

Here is the link to the Laukhuff catalogue; the leather nuts are in
section 4.20. If anyone can find the prices of the nuts in this
catalogue, please let me know.
