FS: Knabe Angelus 65-note Player in New York
By Jean Spencer

I have a circa 1907 Knabe Angelus upright player piano for sale.
It has been in the family for many years and always kept indoors.
A piano tuner has just inspected it, and told me that as it plays
65-note rolls he didn't know anybody who would want it locally, but
it might be of interest to somebody with a library of early rolls.

According to the tuner, the piano is all original except for a set
of bridle straps. He felt that the player action had not had any work
done on it, and it is not electrified. Even so, the player still works
when the roll is advanced by hand. The tuning pins are tight, and he
pulled the piano away from the wall to inspect the soundboard and that
is very good as well. The original hammers have some moderate wear and
can be filed. I had the heat down to the low 60's over the past couple
of winters so the action is sluggish. The mahogany finish is darkened
but intact except for one spot on the key cover/fallboard. Overall,
he felt that this is a good solid piano of top quality construction
and would turn out very well when brought up to concert pitch and
worked on. There is a bench that comes with it, but only one roll.

Located near Ithaca, New York, in the Finger Lakes region, on a first
floor. I am asking 900 dollars but would appreciate hearing from
anybody who is interested, or has ideas on who would be a buyer.
My phone number is 1-607-272-4679.
