Seeburg L Blows Its Fuse
By John Farmer

Just so everyone understands, Mark's Seeburg L is running a 110-volt
motor through a 240/110 transformer off the UK 240-volt mains. When it
came to me for restoration there was no fusing beyond the 13 amp fuse
feeding the transformer. I therefore installed an additional fuse box
inside the piano with a 5 amp fuse. Since the original motor hadn't
been in service for ages, I felt it was wise to add this extra fusing,
but I suspect my choice of 5 amps may not be enough for the starting
current, although it worked fine during various tests before it was
returned to Mark.

I have e-mailed Mark for further information, and I am sure we will
find a solution, probably a bigger fuse, unless the motor or coin
mechanism has developed a fault.
