I have what I think is an adjustment problem and I'm hoping someone
who reads the publication can help.  I have two uprights.  One is a 1919
Walters with an unknown brand of player unit; it may be made by Walters
too for all I know.  The other piano is a 1929 National (Boston).

I've taken them apart for tubing replacement and the larger foot-pumped
bellows to be recovered.  I've got them all back together and they work
well but for a similar problem with both.  The problem is that the Tempo
slide lever doesn't seem to adjust the tempo much.

I can control the tempo with the last few millimeters of the Play/Reroll
lever.  If I slide it all the way to the right (the Play position) the
airmotor struggles to turn the roll.  However, if I back it off just
slightly it will play just fine.  Minor adjustments either way will
adjust the tempo.

I'm pretty confident that I have all the rods connected in the same way
they were before I disassembled the units.  I'm thinking it's got to be
a fairly common occurrence and that someone has run into this before
because it's the same on both units.  It's got to be an adjustment
somewhere.  Any ideas?
