Regarding restoration of the steamboat pump, the only thing
I didn't realize when I restored the last one I did was that the
owner of the piano had "restored" it before me and didn't put it back
together exactly as he found it, so when I copied his measurements
and orientations the pump didn't not work smoothly and I had to re-do
it again.
