When my 1912(?) Armstrong player was restored about twenty-five years
ago, Rex Kennedy (who understudied Art Reblitz here in Colorado)
recommended leaving the lead tubing intact, saying that, since the
tubing was OK, it didn't make sense to replace it. So far, he was
right. The only advantage I can see to replacing the lead tubing would
be to ease removing chaff, if and when a tube became plugged.
