I have a 1917 Norris & Hyde upright piano with an Air-O-Player 88-note
player action to refurbish.  It's the kind with the modular metal valve
and pouch assemblies that look like little silver HO scale locomotives.
The piano is in reasonably good shape, and all original.

I'm hesitating to take the job only because the spoolbox does not have
a roll tracking device.  I've seen pictures of later Air-O-Players with
pneumatic trackers, but this piano has none of any kind.  I'm concerned
it will be frustrating to use if the rolls are wandering.

So, I have two questions:

1. Has anyone rebuilt an Air-O-Player who could comment on the
experience and the quality of the outcome?  The valve modules look
a little tricky, but not impossible to rebuild.  How well do they work?

2. Does anyone have an Air-O-Player spoolbox with a tracking device in
their bone yard they would part with cheap?
