Duo-Art Keybed Shifter & Hammer Rail Lifter
By Pat DeWitt

Hi MMDers, I am restoring my 1929 Steinway LR (OR) Duo-Art. I only
have the 1925 tubing diagrams which designate the soft pedal tracker
bar connection as number 95. However, the 1925 tubing diagrams do not
match my piano which has both a hammer rail lift, soft pedal bellows
and a keybed shift soft pedal bellows. I assume that it is necessary
to select one or the other bellows.

I would like to have a schematic diagram of the soft pedal tubing
connections for both soft pedal bellows and guidance for how to select
either one or the other. It would also be okay if I could talk to
someone who has done a piano with both bellows, so I could get my
questions answered. Also, which bellows-operated soft pedal function
is preferred for use with the Duo-Art, and why?

Thanks,
Pat DeWitt

(Note that I am giving both name and city, as has been discussed
in a recent MMD posting.)
