Fan System Duo-Art Performs in Godowsky Movie
By Bruce Grimes

If anyone is interested in hearing how the fan-system Duo-Art can
play, go to http://www.theartofthelefthand.com/ and them click on
"The Buddha of the Piano: Leopold Godowsky". At the home page, click
on "Media". At the bottom is a perfectly dreadful picture of myself
at the 1910 Steinway we lengthened some 40 years ago and in which
we installed a fan-system Duo-Art. Click on the picture and it will
play. It's slow coming up, but there is a selection from a Chopin
Ballade. Thursday evening is the movie's world premier here at the
Rialto in Santa Rosa, Calif., at 7:00 P.M.

Also, I have information on both a pedal-operated Steck grand and
a Weber Duo-Art which are available in the San Francisco Bay Area.
I own neither and am asking no commission.

[ The video clip is the Duo-Art roll of Leopold Godowsky performing
[ Chopin's Ballade No. 1 in G-minor. I was startled to hear (and see)
[ the theme playing in A-minor; Tockhwock explained that's because the
[ video clip is from near the middle of the piece, not the beginning.

[ An interesting biography by Jeremy Nicholas, author of "Godowsky -
