Roos 57-key Organ in America
By Alan Smith

Greetings from England. Thanks to all who, over a long winter, have
kindly helped me research the history of the "Roos 57 key band organ",
which spent much of its life (1958-2005) in America. Past owners
were J.K. Bryan, New Jersey; Paul Cuoco, Wyoming; Jim DeRoin [Castro
Valley, Calif.]; James Westcott, Lompoc Valley, Calif.

The above gentlemen are, sadly, no longer with us, and I wonder whether
there are any senior readers of M.M.D. who recall these gentlemen or
indeed would have contact details of their families.

It would be an honour to learn a little about the organ's former
American owners. Latterly the organ became known as a Gasparini and
was called "de Vondeling", its pre-1958 European name.

If you think you know anything of the organ, or indeed anything of its
previous owners, please drop me a line and I will send you details of
what I have learned so far, which is quite fascinating. The following
link has photos of the organ in America:

organ on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8OnwyUDnB04

Yours sincerely,
Alan M. Smith,
Hoxne, England
