Source of Kangaroo Leather
By Nancy Fratti

Kangaroo skin was mentioned (by me!) in 100307 MMDigest for covering
bellows for a cylinder music box with organ. Someone asked where to
get it and I told you I'd find out.

Well, the wonderful man who covered my organ bellows was Ed Openshaw in
New Hampshire. He has no computer (yet, but he's thinking about it!)
but he can be reached at 1-603-786-9922 (a shameless commercial plug
given with permission from Ed, who will join MMD as soon as he's computer
literate!)

Ed purchased the kangaroo skin from the Columbia Organ Factory in
Columbia, Pennsylvania. Be sure to get the oil tanned skins as they
_really_ hold air well! While the kangaroo skin is more expensive than
our domestic cow, it was well worth it.
