Seek Black Forest Organ Clock Restorer
By Justin J. Miller

I recently purchased a Black Forest organ clock for my collection. Now
I am looking for someone located in the western U.S. -- preferably in
the Utah area -- who would be able to do a restoration on the clock to
bring it back to life musically.

If anyone in this forum is interested in taking on this project or can
recommend someone, please contact me.

The clock was made ca. 1830 in the Black Forest for the American
market. It has 43 pipes, and plays (should play) eight American tunes,
including Washington's March and Yankee Doodle. It also has automated
figures that include musicians and dancers. The organ was cased on its
arrival in Philadelphia in a fantastic island mahogany case.

Everything on the clock is present and in good condition. All pipes
are original, the leather on the bellows looks to be in good shape and
it will hold air. Right now it makes noise, not music. So it needs a
good go-through and tuning.

I would drive the clock out and pick it back up, when completed, to
avoid the hazards of shipping.
