Chrome- vs. Vegetable-tanned Leather for Valves
By Jere DeBacker

I talked with Art Reblitz at length about this question last week
regarding a Seeburg player that I'm restoring. Art told me that he
does use the chrome tanned leather but, after polishing the brass
seats, he coats them with lacquer so that they don't react with the
leather.

The special lacquer that he uses and which I ordered, too, can be
found at the following web site: http://www.votawtool.com/ They have
lacquer brushes, they have aerosol cans and they have brush-on lacquer.
