Vacuuming the Player Piano Tracker Bar
By Spencer Chase

The hand-held tracker bar pumps are not feeble. In fact, the reverse
is true -- they can provide very high suction that will rival any
vacuum cleaner. There is no risk of damage to the pouches, etc.,
with a vacuum cleaner unless they are so weak that the pouches would
self-destruct in normal playing. A hand pump is much more likely to
damage them.

Depending on the size of the bleed, the voracity with which you pump
and the tightness of the seal, you can apply well over 100 inches of
suction with a hand pump. A typical household vacuum cleaner will not
develop more than 60 inches. Maybe some multi-thousand dollar thing
like a Dyson would do better?
