Seek Instrument Mover, Texas to Virginia
By Britt Abbott

I know this can be a touchy subject as I've read some subscribers who
like some piano movers, where others don't. Can anyone give me a couple
of recommendations on long distance piano movers as I'm moving a piano
from Houston, Texas, to Chesapeake, Virginia. Thanks in advance!

[ Favorable testimonials notwithstanding, and in spite of the good
[ intentions of the mover, accidents do happen and the mover's insurance
[ isn't likely to cover all repair costs nor the cost of replacement.
[ You should purchase your own insurance to cover loss or damage during
[ shipment as well as in your home. See the MMDigest articles indexed

[ As expressed in those articles, collectors of costly and irreplaceable
[ instruments seem to agree that it is safest to hire a specialist with
[ a proven good reputation. Otherwise any mover could be hired who
[ carries adequate insurance against theft and damage and liability on
[ the _entire_ load of cargo. Not many moving firms do. -- Robbie
