I'm looking for some historical information and speculation about
the Tel-Electric piano player system, having recently seen one in
action at Joe Lavacchia's house in Massachusetts.  What a fantastic
device!  I could use any facts or opinions on the following
questions:

- How many of the 65-note brass-roll Telelectric systems and how
many of the 88-note Telektra paper roll systems were made?

- How many are still in existence, either operational or not?

- Were any Tel-Electric products known to be imported to Europe,
or were they all sold and used in the USA?

- What were the chances a New Jersey teenager (that would be the young
George Antheil) would have encountered one of these somewhere?  Where?

- Why did the company fail?

Many thanks!  By the way, my doctoral dissertation, "The History
and Technology of the Ballet mécanique," has been accepted by Tufts
University and will soon be published by them online.  I will post
