Lador Musical Box
By Don Caine

Hi Jeroen, This is a follow-up on your Hedge Hog organ grinder.
It was probably made by Peter-Figuren in Austria who apparently
made a whole series of Hedge Hog figurines for many years. From what
I have recently seen they could date back to the 1930s or before and
they continue through the 1980s or 90s.

I've just seen two from vastly different periods. One has a Thorens
1.18 movement using a square stem clock key winder and marked as hand
made & hand painted in Austria, with an alpine scene painted on top
of the organ box. Another one (not hand made) is made of die cast
plastic and marked "Peter-Figuren Made in Austria" and I'd guess it
is from the 1970s or 80s based on the design of the Reuge mechanism.

I'm sure if you do some research, you can find out more about this
Austrian toy figurine maker.

Most sincerely,
