Seek Symphonion Style 25R Disc Clock Information
By Mark Buckland

Does anyone own a Symphonion style 25R 11-7/8-inch disc playing
clock? (See Bowers' Encyclopedia, page 219.) I have one currently
undergoing restoration and I require details of how the brass lever
on the side of the case interacts with the governor assembly.

The wall mounted clock is not coin operated but is triggered by
the clock mechanism, which is all working well. It appears that
the lever would allow the owner to play the disc at will, be it
(a) effectively overriding the clock, (b) setting the mechanism to
silent, or (c) allowing normal clock-triggered play on the hour.

Symphonion also produced a 7-11/16-inch version, style 12R,
that presumably had the same type of action. If anyone can provide
descriptions, drawings or photos to aid the restoration and fabrication
of missing parts I would be grateful.
