This is an interesting discussion.  Some years ago the fellow who ran
the carousel for years, I forget his name, told me he would contact me
to have the organs restored.  Shortly after that he was gone, retired
I believe.  When I contacted the folks who took over the franchise, the
lady told me she had somebody set up to restore the organs.  A follow
up call from me resulted in the same response.

In the last six or eight years it seemed like the organs were absent
for extended periods, and I assumed that by now they were restored to
like new, and sounding so good they had to be played.

I am retiring from my corporate engineering position and returning to
full time restoration work.  I would be happy to evaluate the organs
as to what they need, or to properly restore them to as new performance
should that be desired.

I have voiced and tuned organs to play on less than original factory
wind, with very nice results.  Although you lose a little in depth,
it seems to be far better than enclosing an organ, which in my opinion
kills the beautiful resonance of an organ in a carousel building.
