Roll-Operated Player Pipe Organ Census
By Tom Rosenbusch

(1) There is a player organ at Hildene, the Robert Todd Lincoln summer
home in Manchester Center, Vermont.

(2) I believe there is a player organ in the Hill mansion in St. Paul,
Minnesota.

Tom Rosenbusch

[ Robert Todd Lincoln was the only child of President Abraham and Mary
[ Todd Lincoln to survive to adulthood. He was president of the Pullman
[ Company [rail cars], the largest manufacturing corporation at the turn
[ of the 20th century, from 1897 to 1911. The 1000-pipe Aeolian player
[ organ was a birthday gift from Robert to his wife, Mary, in 1908 and is
[ believed to be the oldest residential pipe organ in the United States
[ with a player attachment still in its original location and still in
[ working order. It is played each day. Ref.:
