Player Pianos Are Far From Dead
By Dave Haibach

Quoting Ken Marts: "In thinking about this, I've made an interesting
observation. At the present time, all but one of the player pianos
we're working on comes from "Grandpa" having the old player piano
restored for the grandkids. I hear many stories about when the
grandkids come to visit and how they sit for hours pumping away and
singing along."

I think that Ken's experience is typical, and pianos are dead as
we want to allow them to be. The 'key' here is to expose kids early
to the music, be it classical or pop, before the "mathematically
mutilated mumbo-jumbo of modern mangled music" takes hold in their
brains. (It does not hurt to have some good family times in the mix
either.) Just my $.02.

Cheers,
Dave Haibach
