Rubber Bands Around Music Rolls

I agree, I have never allowed any restraint near my rolls for over
40 years.  I only tighten a roll prior to playing: tapping against
the right spool, the left spool is fixed 1 to 2 mm clear of the roll.

I tap against the right spool for horizontal storage; I find this
gives me even moisture take up, minimum warpage, minimum roll damage
on play and re-roll.
