I have my Duo-Art pianos set up so that on re-roll the top chuck
moves to the _right_ about 3/8".  This means that the paper never
touches the _right_ flange on reroll.

When I put my rolls on to play, I pull out the _left_ flange about
1/2".  This requires a little 'magic tape' to be certain they're
tight enough not to move back in during play.

The result is no wear and tear on my rolls.  I play my originals,
and my Audiographics, without any worry, without any tares (tears?).
This is how my grandfather did it, it's how he taught me to do it,
and so that's how and why I do it.
