I am restoring a 1916 Foster-Armstrong upright player piano.  My
dilemma is when I first began re-tubing my tracker bar, I only tubed
the middle section and the notes played perfectly.  Then I re-tubed
everything else and the notes barely play.

What would cause notes to play better when there are more tracker
holes open than closed?  Do the secondary valves need to be adjusted
or do I need to replace the secondary pouch board?
