Seek Antique Musical Christmas Tree Stand
By Mary Alice Fassl

I grew up with a musical box that my parents brought out every year
during the Christmas season. It had originally been given to my
grandfather back in the 1920's. He was the Commodore of the Leviathan,
a ship that transported many troops back and forth through enemy
waters during WW1 and during prohibition times.

My mother had said that my grandfather's musical stand was made out
of nickel. From what I have found out it was made by Eckardt in
Germany. It had a logo embossed on it of Father Christmas holding
a tree. It played "Silent Night" and another song, and a small tree
was always placed on the top of it. It was magical to me as a child.

My parents are no longer here, but I would love to try to find one so
that I could keep that magic going with my family.

Thank you!
