Hello all.  Thanks to all who have replied so far.  Interestingly
enough, half of you think that the chords can't play and the other half
thinks they should.  That goes to show how little we actually know of
the correct operation of these instruments.

I have obtained some pictures of the actual chords on the roll and they

For those of you who have this roll, please compare [ Duo-Art 5685,
Le Clair de Lune, played by George Copeland ].  The chords are 40
and 50 seconds into the roll.

For those of you who with well-adjusted pianos and who dare :-),
why not test it with some masking tape on the tracker bar.  It will
take only a minute.  Tape the tracker bar shut with 3 note holes open.
Run the piano and open and close the 3 holes with fingers.

 [ One camp of rebuilders restores the instrument to new or better
 [ condition, whereas the other camp repairs the instrument to
 [ less-than-perfect condition because the owner can't afford a
 [ complete restoration.  Only a Duo-Art in new condition can play
 [ a 3-note chord at zero level.  What should the player tech tell
