Paul Eakins' Gay Nineties Village Instruments
By John Talbot

Hi -- One instrument that has not been mentioned is "Katy Lou". Katy
Lou was brought from the Strand in Galveston, Texas, to my shop in
San Antonio, Texas, for restoration. Fortunately, I had picked it up
several months before hurricane Ike hit that area. (Other instruments
were not so lucky -- all had to be rebuilt, I still have two in the
shop. A nickelodeon, steel drum and player piano have been rebuilt
and returned, I still have to rebuilt a Ramey banjo and another
nickelodeon.)

"Katy Lou" has been restored and returned to Galveston, at the Strand
Emporium Ice Cream Parlour! You can see pictures of Katy Lou in my
shop, at http://www.player-piano.com/katylou.htm just before her
return. She is also on Facebook, search for Katy Lou Wurlitzer!
