Restoring an Adler 365 Upright Musical Box
By Doug Wiggins

I'm so pleased to see that this group has continued and grown so much!
I am debating taking on restoring an Adler 365 upright music box in
Rome that has been completely disassembled. The two sets of wire
dampers were inserted under the starwheels and crimped and I've been
advised that these are nearly impossible to adjust and I shouldn't
take on the project.

So, I'm curious:

1. Are there are any large Adlers near the Washington, DC, area
available for examination?

2. Are there examples of woodwork, or woodworkers about to copy
the cornice and feet?

3. Might any other restorers weigh in on their experience with
these dampers?

Thanks -- I hope I can contribute in some small way.
