Seeburg "L" Stopped Playing
By Gary Blizzard

Looking for any help. I had this Seeburg Model "L" for a little
over a week. The music played very strong and the sustain and
mandolin functions appeared to be operating properly. The only
issue I had was not enough vacuum to go into full rewind.

All of a sudden, yesterday I turn on the machine and the drive
gear will not engage the play/pickup roll fully. Not only that, but
if I hold it in the engaged/play position there is not enough vacuum
in the piano valve stack to hear any notes being played.

This happened all of a sudden. Like I said, it was playing great one
minute, then I put it into rewind manually and now nothing. Any ideas
out there?

There is plenty of vacuum coming off the main vacuum pump. I removed
the large pulley and all 4 bellows seemed to be functioning properly.
I also removed the 1-inch hose going into some type of distribution box
on the bottom left side of the machine and it appeared to have plenty
of suction.

Is there anyone in the South Jersey area that works on these things?
