Harvey & Marion Roehl Mechanical Music Collection
By Michael Roseboom

Hi, Charles, Harvey Roehl's collection, from what I understand,
was auctioned off privately. The large fairground organ you saw in
Harvey Roehl's collection was a 57-key Gavioli, but I don't know who
currently owns it. I do know that the North Tonawanda band organ
is part of Don Neilson's collection, American Treasure Tour, near
Valley Forge, Pennsylvania. You can see a video of it on YouTube
at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LuXDiPk5lOY

The Tangley calliope is now owned by a collector in the Elmira, New
York, area. The style 25 Fotoplayer is owned by a collector in the
Binghamton area and is currently in storage. I'm not sure where the
other instruments went to. Perhaps another MMDer has more information?

Harvey's was the first private collection I ever saw, and it was
probably one of the most well-known ones in the mechanical music hobby.
He and Marion are greatly missed!
