Ampico A Music Plays Too Slow
By Wade Newton

In defense of Art Reblitz's suggestion, what he stated is certainly
valid; it's just not applicable to Doug's situation, apparently.
In my case it was the transmission frame -- which began warping after
30-plus-years from when I restored the piano -- that was causing my
roll speed problems. The binding was not in the shafts but on the
machined surfaces. I removed the transmission and eased the places
that were binding.

Just for a back-up I purchased a spare transmission. I missed the
boat when I failed to win the bid for the one that Don Teach offered
on eBay, as his frame seemed to be of very high quality.
